I'm conducting something of a social experiment on how far people are willing to go for free furniture. Nothing as extreme as you see on those nasty "eat a live bug" type shows - this is far simpler.

See, I'm trying to get rid of my old sofa, which is too short for me to comfortably lie on and is heavier than a semi-truck, as it is a fold-away sofa-bed with a solid steel frame. I could probably put it out on the side of the street and it would be gone before dinner, but I'm lazy. And it's hot out.

So, I went around to all the posting boards in my apartment complex and pinned up fliers promising a free sofa. The only condition, is that they and a few of their stronger friends have to come and remove it from my living room themselves, without injuring anyone or anything. I mean, this complex has 60-some-odd apartments - there's gotta be someone here who could use a sofa, especially one that folds out into a bed for their buddy to pass out on.

We'll see how this little experiment goes. I'll keep you posted if and when the couch takes off. Then, it's off to Ikea for me...
