I know this is just a silly comic, but...shouldn't they be gasping in the super thin air and freezing in the minus-unmentionable temperatures?

Yeah, if anyone else were to climb Everest with exposed skin like this, they'd come back with burnt retinas and frostbitten noses. But it's hard to convey emotions behind goggles, face masks and breathing apparatuses.
