I've neglected this little blog space of mine. I could easily toss out the excuse that I have nothing to write about, but that isn't necessarily true.
I really don't have anything terribly interesting to write about.
But, since it's Christmas Eve, I figured I'd pass on, along with Seasons Greetings for all, what I've been listening to for this year's holiday buildup.
I always have the soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas (iTunes) in my rotation, as well as selections from Handel's Messiah, John Denver and the Muppets' A Christmas Together (iTunes), and the few songs from the Space Ghost Coast to Coast Christmas Special.
However, I've sort of gotten into a Christmas song remix mood lately. Last year, I found Christmas Remixed (iTunes) and its sequel (iTunes), which takes several classic Christmas melodies from days of yore and mixes in some sequencing and beats to jazz them up. Awesome stuff. Then, this year, I found the Santastic collection of albums - a collection of several of the Internet's biggest mashup stars and their takes on seasonal tunes. Some of the songs have adult language, so no link here. However a quick Google search will turn up what you need.
So, my Licorice Whips... what's on your Christmas playlist?

I'm afraid I'm more traditional. I have Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Ray Conniff,Burl Ives, Dean Martin - but then lots of Manheim Steamroller, Muppets, some Wizard Rock, Buffet, a little Queen, Pretenders, BareNaked Ladies...oh, let's face it, I'm a Christmas music junkie. What I don't have is Wanna Hippotamus for Christmas and the Christmas Song by the Chipmunks. I'll add next year and I'll check out your playlists...never know what will be interesting and new!
